Scrap Magnet Top Complete!

Finally got the checked border done. I like the way it turned out. Finished size of the top is 90" square. I am keeping this one for myself I think!

Char, that is such a cool quilt. I love it. What size are your squares? It looks as if they finish at 1 1/2". I like the white diagonals in the border.

That surely is a lot of squares!! Really, really pretty.

I don’t think I would want to work with such small pieces, and I admire those who do.

Beautiful quilt. I love controlled scrappy and that one is a winner!

    That turned out great!

I love it, Char! It looks like two different white background fabrics - is it?

Donna, background is white & grey. I like the subtle contrast.

Char, I need to start looking more carefully at things. You know how before a top that has a lot of white in it is quilted, the seams show brighter that the rest? Well, I just assumed that's what I was seeing - without regard to the fact that seams are not that wide. Duh! What a clever way to add interest to a white background. I'll have to remember that.

I cant take credit for it. It was part of the pattern. 😁

WOW! That is a great quilt! And tons of tiny pieces. Bless you for sticking with it.

Char, I like that you didn't follow the pattern in using the black. I think the black looks out of place and just rude. lol It turned out really nice and happy looking. Good job.

It’s a stunning quilt. I can’t tell if it’s finished. Did you do the backing yet?

Maybe the black in the pattern is a nod to Amish quilting styles.

I'm going to baste it today, it is not sandwiched in the picture. Thank you all for your very kind words. I have not done alot of scrappy quilts, but after this one, I see more in my future. 😃👍

It is terrific! The blocks just pop and I agree, I'm glad you didn't use the black. Your color choices are always spot on. I love the planned checker border. I wouldn't have thought of that and would have done random, but this is so much prettier.

Char, is there a place I can purchase a paper copy of the pattern/instructions for this lovely Scrap Magnet quilt?

I looked on the Bonjour Quilts website but found only a downloadable pattern. They did not have a phone number to call or a way to write.

At the moment my desktop is dead and I do not want to try to work from this silly little phone.

I found the owner's email on her website: Kirsty (at) bonjourquilts (dot) com. Ok, realize you probably found that. She lives in Australia, so mailing patterns is expensive.

I think all of her patterns are downloads. I think the whole pattern was maybe 10 pages. I hope you get your desktop up and running again...that's a drag🙁

    Thanks for the info everyone.

I just emailed Ms. Kirsten. She is sending me a PayPal invoice; printing the pattern at her home, and mailing it to me! I can pay with PayPal. This is so kind of her.

I will get a replacement desktop after the new year, but I want this pattern now without having to go in the library.

    Merry Christmas to me! 🎄
