Did you consider offset subway tile pattern?

I'm remodeling my La Jolla townhouse myself and I don't have a great eye for style. I was told stacked white or gray glass subway tile would get me the contemporary look I want. Is that what you were looking for as well? My countertops are white ice granite, linen shaker cabinets, stainless rod handles, black granite sink, light oak engineered hardwood diagonal floors, Thanks.
