Hanging wreaths from windows

Me and my husband are not handy at all and we have never decorated our exterior for the holidays before, but this year we wanted to at least do a little something to brighten up our home for the holidays. We're trying to avoid climbing up on any ladders, so I'm thinking of settling hanging some wreaths out our 2nd story windows. We have sliding windows (horizontal sliding in the front, vertical bottom up sliding on the back of our house). I've been reading up on how to hang them, and it got me thinking... Would I be able to remove our window screens, then tie the wreaths to the screen using fishing line or flower wire, and then reinstall the screens with the wreaths attached...all from the comfort of inside my home? That way I wouldn't have to worry about the wreaths scratching the windows either??
I'm obviously making the assumption that the fishing line or flower wire is thin enough to fit through the holes of my window screens, but maybe that's not the case...
