I have tried winter sowing the last two years and I feel I am still learning what types of flowers do well. I understand the hardy annuals do well now. I want to try pelargoniums because they are one of my favorite flowers and they are costly to fill my containers with nice nursery starts. I find the big box store ones do not grow well for me and they are too small. When would I put the seeds out? I want to say February but need advice from anyone who is a seasoned winter sower. I do not have inside grow lights or any shelving so I will be challenged to keep them alive in my basement. I would need to keep them growing for 4 months. I will put the containers in an area that will dry to keep them Last year we had many hard Spring rains and many containers did not drain well. I learned I should put holes on the sides of my containers also. Any advice is appreciated.
