How long has it been in the current pot? When I have re-potted I've been shocked to see the amount of suffocated roots twining in the bottom. Possibly the root is long, and does need a bigger pot with more soil. Good 'luck'!!

Just leave it be. That is normal. Monsteras develop into huge tropical vines that put out lots of aerial roots. They are pretty hard to tame!

Dave in NoVa, you’ve got that right. I’ve got one that is about to take over the living room, it’s literally over 4’ round. I’ve repotted it a couple times (aerial roots everywhere) and moved it to a larger area and it quickly grows in to its new space. No more repotting for this one or I’ll have to move out.
