Amaros Kitchen Update?

I'm trying to somewhat modernize my kitchen back splash without changing the granite. I would like a grayish tile. I attached 2 photos, one of the current tile , and a sample of what I'm thinking of doing. Some friends don't think it goes with the granite. Any ideas or suggestions would be welcomed.
Thanks in Advance

What color are your cabinets? It’s tricky to make a suggestion without seeing the whole picture. The tiles you like might work, but it depends on the rest of the finishes.

I’m not a pro, but I’ve been a houzzer long enough to tell you the pros will say gray is on its way out. I think your best bet is to replace the backsplash with a subway tile that matches the lightest off white color in your granite. I’ve attached a picture of your granite with Sherwin-Williams paint colors that match. I would try to go to a granite shop and find a sample size of your granite that you can shop with. Good luck!

I’m not seeing any white in this granite. I am also guessing that the tile there now matches the floor.

Can you post a photo further back?

Gray is still popular no matter what the pros say. But in your case, it doesn’t go with the granite.

Don't mind the blue paint. I'm changing it to a white with a tinge of gray.
    Thanks

I agree eld. I should just say the lightest shade in your granite. By getting a small sample of your granite to shop with, you’ll be able to find a match easier. Good luck.

Changing the blue paint to white with a tinge of gray

You should take a pic with the gray backsplash from the same distance.

Please let paint be the last thing you pick. Determine your backsplash before you decide on a paint color. Your cabinets are so warm looking; they’re lovely, and the granite looks good with them. Try several different materials for the backsplash (maybe NOT glass tile) in colors that work with the cabinets and the granite so that you coordinate the whole look. Otherwise, you’ll wind up with pieces, blocks of different elements, that don’t work well together.

Grey will not look good with that countertop nor the cupboards. You need to stick more in the cream family.

Gray just doesn’t match anything you have going on. You really need to scrap any idea of gray tile or paint.

I would honestly change the countertop before the backsplash it’ll be a hard one to match

Nope to that tile and grey paint. Agree, the granite is the 900 pound gorilla.
