plumeria obtusa or Singapore plumeria tend to lean more evergreen. They tend to lose fewer leaves over winter for me than the rubras...which are much more deciduous (Sleeping period). Also look for DSP or dwarf Singapore pink which is a sport of the obtusa...theres also a cultivar that tends to be more evergreen for me that is a hybrid of obtusa/rubra called Mele Pa Bowman. There are others, but these are ones that I have experience with. Any of these would look very handsome around a pool area.

And to add...Phalanx...is very knowledgeable. I am on the coast in ventura ca. Lost both my white Singapore's to cold winter wind back when I knew nothing. Now I know only enough to be dangerous, but will add, love my 2 yellow Mele Pa Bowmans and was told of the obtusas, they are more cold tolerant. Fabulous scent and holding power. Enjoy.

I was thinking around the pool could help keep it warmer over those cold winter nights. Or if it’s one if the enclosed indoor/outdoor pools with clear glass enclosures that are common in Florida...what a knockout scent that would be!

I would consider the DSP over an Obtusa. How about a Pudica Plumeria? None are truly evergreen and all will still drop leaves into your pool. The Pudica trades off fragrance for a better shape and growth habit for small areas.
