Countertop Help!

Hubby and I went to a large granite/quartz/marble wholesale house today... and got very overwhelmed. Pictured is a sample of our kitchen cabinets. Any ideas what countertop we should do?! Open to anything at this point!!

    Some more pics we took

I was really going there hoping to find a white/silver persia pearl granite but didn’t see any! My hubby wants to do waterfall backsplash too so I am trying to find something that isn’t too busy... how do you like your quartzite? Easy upkeep?

We have the quartzite in our master bath. Can't stop looking at it. We have had it 18 months and no problems.

On our island w/waterfall in the kitchen we have a dramatic black and white granite.

Most of the ones you have posted are fairly busy IMO

I agree, that’s why I was so overwhelmed! Most all of the granites were busy!!

    # 2 and #5 in that order.

    #2!

oh yes. the Exquisite. (looks similar to Fantasy Blue quartzite) 100% stop looking

a few additives you could do

here's blue fantasy w/white cabs. I love the gold and white hardware light options. I'd pick a killer backsplash tile in that blue/gray color

    #3 is 2nd choice.

The others are all variables of Dallas White, alaska White, Delicatus white granite (the names this place has given them are a trip!)

the first one is Fantasy Brown, and is a marble. it's ok, but somewhat overdone.

    What is your floor?

If you don't want busy, you should probably steer clear of most granite. All of your photos are of highly-figured stone. If you want to get away from busy, take a look at some of the marble and quartzite options. Or, if you're okay with engineered stone, you'll find lots of quartz options.

#2 is so pretty... And I really like your cabinets. The blue/gray backsplash tile is a great suggestion, above...

I'm partial to natural stone, i went with olympic white marble (vermont) and i never looked back. it's my favourite thing.

What wood are the cabinets or are they stained/painted? And are all the cabinets this dark stain? Does your kitchen get good natural light?

Love #2, keep us posted please!

Cabinets we ordered are cannon grey stained cherry. We do have a lot of natural light! Basically if there is not a cabinet, there is a window.

Steering more towards quartz or quartzite just for durability and because it’s less “busy”.

    Two more we found

    nope. stick w/the other one.

did you see the mock up I did w/it?

#2 is gorgeous. From the later two, the first one would give you a lighter kitchen. For DRAMA, gotta go with #2. I see why you’re overwhelmed. Lots of nice options.

Also much prefer natural stone and love #2, but it has to speak to you. I find all those swirls and variations fascinating and then you make that the focal point and backsplash, floor, etc should be quiet and simple. If it makes you nervous the last two posted are also very good choices.

I did get the mock up! It was BEAUTIFUL! My husband wants to do the same stone as countertop on the backsplash... do you think #2 would be too overwhelming if we did? I like the idea of tile but he works in the industry and says he installs that every day. He wants something “different”.

    Here is the last one

that last one is also nice. looks like TajMajal.

what's the price on that one? in the 2-3K range?

oh, as for the tile, great! I love something different! (although, I thought the Tilebar Nabi Harlequin was different!)

not it won't be too busy, whichever countertop you choose.

The second one you posted will be beautiful as countertop and backsplash. Just be sure you are present when its fabricated. You’ll want the veins to flow continuously from counter to wall.

I'm going to be the dissenter here -- while I like #2 on its own, I don't particularly like it with your cabinet color, taken as a whole it's just meh. The deeper browns/black colors in #3 (Pacific Blue) make your cabinets pop and coordinates a lot better based on what I'm seeing on my monitor.

I think a lighter stone would be better as the cabinets are dark. Not loving any of those lighter ones....keep looking!

If anyone was interested, new quartzite top was installed on the island yesterday. Polished white quartz on perimeter. We love them both!! Now just waiting for the full heigh splash and quartzite behind the range!
