We've finished up our kitchen renovation!Our goal was to update the countertops (replace formica) and make the kitchen floor and dining space flow consistently (removed linoleum and carpet from dining space). With our small kitchen space we wanted to build a kitchen table that could double as countertop space when needed. I'm thankful for the feedback that I received on houzz on the right flooring color. We had a challenging time trying to find the right floor shade to complement the cabinetry and an even bigger challenge finding the right backsplash to go with the granite. We settled on a brown glass tile and learned a lot installing glass tile for the first time.
My hubby built a cabinet base and installed custom braces for the island/kitchen table. We stained beadboard and trim pieces using a walnut gel stain. The space feels more open now and it's nice to have the table top space to spread out when cooking. We are thrilled with the results!
