I have one hoya and it’s the pubicalyx splash. I love the variegated foliage. She’s super easy to care for; set and forget type of plant. I keep her next to my east facing window so she gets bright indirect light to maintain the “splash” in her leaves. A tiny snip (like super tiny) off her vines and she automatically pushed out new growth points. They’re really pretty trailing, but I opted to make a trellis to climb.

I’d highly recommend adding at least one Hoya to your collection. If I had to get another, I think I would get the Curtisii.

I have a couple. A lot of them end up being really huge and then winter space becomes a problem. But check out Vermont Hoyas! I love that guy, he teaches all the tricks and they work. My H. davidcummingi, for instance, is growing in semi-hydro---something that never would have occurred to me.

I looked up one you have, and blooms look very nice. Same for hoya MRS Ness would like. Blooms are so different for different hoyas! I just got my 1st one, and it is very small, Hoya wayetii. I hope I don't kill it...I like narrow leaves it has.

Very nice, Rina. Outlined leaves! I have the exact one that is most often confused with H. wayetii, called H. kentiana. I've only had it for a couple of months so I don't really know what to make of it yet.

Thank you all for your input. You’ve convinced me to give Hoyas (is that the correct plural?) a try. I’ve found a seller on Etsy who lives here in San Diego and have selected 3 different Hoyas that look to be beginner proof. H. Carnosa “Krimson Queen ‘Tricolor’, H, australis and H. pubicalyx ‘Pink Silver’.

There is an amazing hoya seller who sells out of her home near San Diego. Last year, before the pandemic, I was planning to take a trip out there to visit her home nursery. I can find her info for you if you want. She sells less common varieties at a fair price.

Does she ship, popmama? I'm totally in the market for Hoya mindorensis.

I don't know much about hoyas (yet!!!), but it seems to me there are several with narrow leaves - sheperdii being just one of them. Sometimes, it is difficult to see the difference in leaves (length, color, anything else?) and exact blooms. At least that is what I found out so far.

There is a seller in Houston area that does ship also. She is thequintco on Ebay. I see she even has the one you are seeking. I can recommend. But shipping this time of year is questionable at best.

This website is another serious hoya collector a lot like Doug of Vermont Hoyas. This person is in Sweden and I've seen some videos of her collection which is unreal.
