I think adding crown will draw more attention to the space between your uppers and the crown. It will look stripy, and it's not needed. I would leave as is. This picture is kind of what it will do...

Not in the kitchen. But you can do it in the adjoining room

That’s where I struggle, I’d love to have it by the sliding doors but that’s a wall that goes through into the kitchen so if I do crown there, I think I’d have to keep it throughout the kitchen- the stripy look is what I was worried about- that’s a good picture - I wouldn’t want it that way

I think you should do the crown. I also have 10' ceilings with crown and I think it looks fine.

IMO you should have gone to the ceiling with the cabinets and had no staggered ones at all I have no idea how you would now add crown to this.

Is it too late to add cabinets to the ceiling? More storage, less dust.

If you do not change the cabinets, no tot he ceiling crown moulding as you already have crown moulding

I actually purposefully didn’t do the cabinets to the ceiling, I like the dimension of the different heights, having them run to the ceiling looked too institutional, reminded me of gym lockers. I know it’s popular nowadays and looks good in many kitchens, just didn’t look good with our layout and cabinets, maybe if the kitchen was smaller but it’s quite large. I think I’ll skip the crown for now. Thanks everyone for the feedback

No crown at the ceiling, nope. Your kitchen cabinets have a crown. One crown is enough.
