Hey, I live in North Texas. We rarely have snow. So, I think it's really pretty. I don't have to live with it, though. At least not more than once a year for one day. It's like a holiday when it snows here. No one goes to work, the schools close and everyone drinks cocoa. If we have enough snow, the kids make snow men. Of course they are terribly ugly and full of grass, as we only get a couple of inches. It's still fun, though.

bkay..there IS a magical quality to snow..and the intricacy of a snowflake is miraculous..what I would love is one month of winter..30 days of cold outside..cozy inside..and then back outside for 11 months..

With camellias, I feel like I have a year-round garden. I do not have hostas (late-season December, or early season Montana aureomarginata) between early December and mid-February, so about 2-3 months without hostas.

my best estimate..6 months with hostas 6 months without..my hostas show up in April and leave late October/mid November..this pip pic was taken April 11..I'd say I have decent plants May to October..I want less down time Lol..

You had snow??? We are going in between rain sunshine and light freeze. My clems are starting to bud as well as all bulbs.

lindalana..thank you!..our snow melted fast..the street and driveway were clear the next morning..2 days ago I noticed buds on my climbing hydrangea..it's sad that soon we'll have some brutal temperatures..
