Not sure either of these colors will work so well with the brown-toned stacked stone. Have you considered a sage green for the wall color? I think that would provide more contrast to the stone. I'd then do a light tan for the trim and a deeper forest green for the door and shutters. Alternatively, you could keep the front door and garage door in a natural wood.

Hi @Sabrina Alfin Interiors, appreciate your response! I unfortunately don't think sage green walls would blend so well in my neighborhood (though it is a lovely color scheme!). I do like the idea of beige trim and some shade of green shutters though. Could you recommend a more neutral base? I'm afraid my neighborhood is pretty suburban - lots of beige, tan going on here. If you must do a beige-y tone, then I would go in a more taupe-y direction, not greige. Taupe will work better with the stacked stone, IMO. Here are a few suggestions:

That last one is very nice. A little darker and very elegant, IMO.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THE BLUE!! gorgeous!! I like a lighter base. Darker trim ... white with black? Or even charcoal? Navy? For the trim?

You need to work with your stone, mortar and roof to figure this out. If that one set of shutters are it, I'd see about eliminating them entirely and visually enlarging the windows with paint on that 2-tone trim.

^Agree with deco. My first thought was to focus on the stone and roof colors.

The stone appears pinkish on my monitor. You're there in person, so what do you think is the difference between it and the roof color? Is one cooler/warmer than the other? If you wanted to steer a different direction, you could use Romabio on the stone to bring the roof and stone closer to the same color. Depends on how "off" they are from each other. Either way, I would prefer something other than gray; it has worn out its welcome here. I used it back in the early 80's, so I'm really tired of it. Maybe that Smoky Blue would look good on the house with white trim and a stained door.

Exactly. It's very hard to tell on a computer screen, and your photo didn't enlarge. If the stone blends with the roof, then it shouldn't be too hard to find a shade for the siding that works. You can also take a closeup of the stone and upload it on SW"s site to get a "reading" of possible siding colors. It's not foolproof but can help.

I do like some of those blues you posted. We had a previous home with a siding color that looked similar to Colonnade Grey. The shutters and door were blue/gray like the Smoky Blue, and the windows and other trim were white (Swiss Coffee). I loved the combination. We sold the house and the buyers painted the siding a peachy color with light brown shutters. I still cringe when I see it, but to each his own!

why is gray the only base color you can choose from? (and with what I see in the stone color, the gray isn't the best choice)

Get some samples of the ones you like and try them out. No one can tell you if they work until you actually paint them on your home. Lighting can play a huge role in overall look, and trying to guide you here from a computer screen isn't going to work. You're choosing a color from a picture on someone's home. often w/enhanced lighting. You've got to get samples, period.

Something about your home which says country French to me. I think it is the roof line over the front entry and the roof shingles. Were you house mine, I would use this photo as inspiration:

Cream everywhere and a wood stained front door.

No shutter.

I am partial to grey (my interior is Agreeable Grey) but not tied to it. I do want to be cohesive with the neighborhood, and I just don’t live in a neighborhood that is bold with colors. Most of the homes here are pretty neutral in base and then play things up with shutter and door colors. The blue I originally picked is actually pretty bold for this neighborhood, ha!

is it possible to grab some samples and paint a swatch near the stone? I think that's a good way to see if you like the grays.

I've been pondering and agree with the idea of a creamy white. That way you won't have to bother with changing the stone.

Left - Accessible Beige (husband thinks it's too bland/light). Debating if I should try one shade darker.

Right - Anew Gray (thanks @Sabrina Alfin Interiors for the suggestion). I actually really like this one compared to Mindful Grey, my original frontrunner. Leaning towards this one but would love to hear your thoughts.

Trying to figure out shutters and door. Does it have to be the same color? The two colors I tried so far (SW Dried Thyme and Smokey Blue) aren't working. Trying SW Sea Serpent tomorrow but any other colors I should consider? Thanks!
