I see you have a closet nearby. I’d reorganize that and try to fit it in there. The emptier your entry way the better

Hmm. Not sure there's much else to be done. A table will interfere with the door swing, as would a shelf under the backpack hooks.

Is that a closet behind the sofa, adjacent to the door? If so, I'd get closet organizers with storage bins so you can hide everything in there.

Put a lidded bench in the closet so backpacks can be dropped in it. Add hooks above for coats. A basket with sturdy handles can sit on the bench for shoes. Under the light switch around the corner put a boot drip tray which can be removed after wet boot weather ends. Hang a nice piece of art centered 5' above the floor where the backpacks hang now.

I agree with trying to make everything fit in the closet. shoe cubbies at the bottom. would it fit for a closet door (or two) to swing out? you could put backpack hooks on the inside doors. or if the closet is not stuffed full, you can put backpack hooks on the side walls inside the closet. for the adults, your backpacks could also go on top shelves (that's where we keep ours).

anything in the closet that doesn't need to be literally right there that season could be moved to other storage. off-season shoes, jackets, etc somewhere else.

also, you could store some of the boots and scooters in a cabinet outside. if you're worried about theft, keep sports equipment in a garage or back porch if you have one.
