Both sofas look too bulky for your space (are you in a row home?) I'd look for something more streamlined and open, something along these lines:

I might also go for an oval (or maybe round, or at least rectangular w/ rounded edges) coffee table - I'd be nicking my shins on those corners all the time. I'd probably remove the hanging planters in the corner - they close the space in, visually.

Not a row home just a bungalow. While I agree with you on needing new couches. I have bulldogs and children. I’m not buying new couches for a little bit yet because they will be trashed in a month lol

You actually don't need a coffee table at all. I don't like them because they take up so much room. See if you can sell the one you have. I use a tiny side table at each end of each seating unit (chair and sofa) to set down drinks, tv remote, or to write on. Instead of the love seat, maybe put two narrow swivel chairs in their place. When you are in the market for a couch, be sure to get one with narrow arm rests. Measure twice, buy once!

I like your room! Is there a TV in there somewhere? I would calm the look of the room down by removing the plants and the stuff on your F/P. I think you do need a lamp or two though. And I agree that some smaller end tables instead of coffee table would look good. I would add a rug and a few pillows to tie the area together. I wouldn't take out the love seat.

I would ditch that coffee table, its out of reach for everyone anyway, an ottoman might be more useful for you on wheels.

All the artwork/wall items are too high up, your eye has nowhere to rest lots going on. The mirror eh..it would be better with interesting art there.

Since you do not seem to have a TV I would swap the loveseat and the portable fireplace, which will give more walk by clearance in the room

I might even swap the loveseat and sofa.

There used to be a tv on the left wall that is why the shelves on the wall are as high as they are. I thought I would hate not having a tv in the living room but if we want to watch anything we have a theatre in the basement to entertain with.

RL relocation that is exactly how we had the living room set up before. Maybe that is the most spacious way to do it but we are just trying some new stuff out to see what we like. Greatly appreciate the input.

I would put the wine rack back where it was. A bench would serve no purpose on that wall. Also, if you take out the loveseat, you are left with minimal seating. I prefer RL’s floor plan and suggestions.

Well it would seem to me you want to look at the fireplace, so i would put the sofa on the long wall, the fireplace on the wall I moved it too and put a bench under the window. curtains and a rug would really help this space. The wine rack was better where it was.
