What is the purpose of pruning trees that size. Will it flower next spring with that much removed

Wow Bob that was a whole lot of hacking. Were they just too big and unmanageable?

i will prune the lemon trees, but not until early February. I could get hit with a frost in February or March, but the damage would be greatest from a freeze /dip to the low 20's - - the risk of that pretty much ends in January.

I have been procrastinating pruning and am not looking forward to it.

That tree is just way to big but if you can handle it more power to you. In the ground tree’s? Yes you have to wait just when it coming out of dormancy.

In my Greenroom the temp stays around 71 *. Tree’s are still growing and blooming. I have graft in January in previous years.

With a little luck it will be back nicer than before, than I might kill it transplanting.

If you grow tree’s in a greenhouse, it’s best to know what your tree’s look like down the road, get yourself a sharp pruner, you are going to need it sooner than you think.

I prune my stonefruit way back every year but only lightly with my citrus. Next year maybe I will try a more aggressive pruning on a couple of citrus and see how they do.
