Yes, the grey train is fading fast. Of your three choices, go with the white cabs with grey countertops -- the combo looks nice, white is a classic cabinet color and the grey counter doesn't make it look trendy, and it's not too cold and stark. Also with white cabs you have a whole range of flooring choices.

Since it appears the floor choice has been made and it is wall colors that are being asked about the grays/greys are fading. You might provide information on the colors used in the rest of the house and especially the bedroom. Looking at the flooring I would not use anything in the Cream family but would go with a soft blue or green. However the actual color should probably be the same as what is being used in the bedroom.

Do grey if you like it. We love it and have it throughout our home but it’s our home for us and we did it because we like it not because it’s trendy.

Thank you all! Here's more info. Brand new home construction. So I plan to use selected grey color throughout the house. The flooring will be throughout as well except bedrooms which will have carpet of a light grey color (mountain pass) as well.

If your floor is grey too then I would do light grey walls and move to whites for cabinetry. Grey walls, grey floor and grey cabinets is a lot of one colour

There is no "top gray" shade. The choice of gray (or any color) shade depends on interplay with lighting, other fixtures, natural light (siting on lot ( ie exposure to west or north etc.), shading from adjacent buildings, color reflected from nearby vegetation or buildings) in your particular house. First decide if your already-made choices are warm or cool, then go from there.

Be aware that any paint color selected will most likely not appear the same in every room - due to the above mentioned factors. So you will need to find a shade that works in all rooms, and you can only do that buy getting samples and testing them in all the rooms.

I agree with raee, even though it seems like a lot of extra work, it's important with grays to find out how they look, and what their undertones are in your surroundings. I used BM Stonington grey in my current place and it looked very blue until I changed the furniture. Then I used BM Silver Chain in my last home, and it was perfect. I know it had a bit of a lavender undertone, but somehow that worked fine. I happen to love grey, and do not see it fading away around here. A nice greige is BM Edgecomb grey, but again I saw a bit of lavender in the undertones.

I did white cabinets with gray counter tops 20 years ago. Still looks great.
