In my opinion, that’d be too much work to make it worth anyone’s efforts. We had our gardener remove ours and it took several tries as it spreads so easily. It’s not like bamboo is unique and exclusive. We couldn’t even give away palm trees, bird of paradise, hibiscus that we already paid our gardener to remove. Had to pay to haul it away.

If you post photos on Craigslist or some other website with a "free--you dig it and you haul it", you might get some hits. The best way to get one's own bamboo started is with a large division, and they are actually expensive, even the common species.

And some species of bamboo are rather rare and valuable. There are hundreds of species used in gardens.
