Have you prided out falling, kiln drying your own lumber you will not save money and it takes a long time to get it ready to use.IMo if you don’t like cherry get some other flooring or plan on having very dark floors that is the only way to deal with the red.

Technically speaking green stain will cancel red highlights...but above comments are true as well... usually it wont result in enough materials for floors ...but after all the treatment steps you may have some beautiful wood for decorative shelving..for wall mount tv ledge or book shelves ...in those cases thicker boards may be better...a good lumber mill may be able to give you an estimate on how much lumber to expect

The easiest way is the STOP UV light from hitting the floor. American Cherry is photosensitive. That means it gets DARKER and 'redder' when UV light hits it.

The obvious way to do this is to use 95% UV blocking windows. And then to use artificial lighting with the lowest UV cast (very hard to do...ie. near impossible).

Or....you fell the trees, sell the wood to a local mill. Use the proceeds to purchase a non-red wood.

Cherry wood—in its natural state—is gorgeous. Have you ever seen natural, un-stained cherry flooring, @Noah Ford? You’d have the poshest pad on the block for sure with that floor!

I grew up with a house full of Canadiana cherry furniture it was beautiful, not my style, but beautiful wood left in its natural color the floors were not cherry but walnut which BTW happens to be my favorite for wood floors
