The rug seems fine. The little blue green table not so much: out of scale with rest of room and not consistent with color scheme. Would recommend finishing out the cabinet wall; you can hardly have too much storage in an office, especially one you might be using for some time. Also, better task lighting on desk and for side chair look essential to working and reading comfortably. If this sort of workspace is going to be the "new normal" for most of us, we need to make it both functional and pleasing to be in.

The rug is a bit small. It doesn’t go under the furniture. Is that a bad thing? The lighting defiantly is planned to be changed. It’s so bad. So we are getting 4 recessed lights and I’m looking forward to finding a pendent light or chandelier to replace fan

The green table is just there temp. It goes in a different space our Christmas tree is taking over at moment

A lesson I learned about pendent lights and chandeliers when they are going to be used to provide light to work: don't get one that has bare light bulbs or only clear shades around the bulbs. They can be very harsh on the eye and distracting. Also, get one that has as many light bulbs as possible. For the space where I work at home, I went through three chandeliers until I got the right one - it has five light bulbs surrounding by a double drum shade.

Yes to a new light and bigger rug. Although this one is sooo pretty. I’m thinking that you take off the shelving part of the desk and flip it around. Not facing a wall. I like an office to feel more formal. It should be facing the doorway.

@HU do you mean put the shelf unit on other end of desk? Than what do you suggest in blank wall? Shelves or corkbaord or organizer or something similar?

You can move the map art to the back wall. Start with that and after it’s done we’ll see what you need to add. I think it’ll look awesome

Then you can put two chairs facing the other way. I’d put frames and flowers. Maybe a pretty diffuser.

Would love to flip the desk around. The corner desk is open though. I was just talking about that earlier wishing the company made it with a panel. Unfortunately the room is really not that big though to do that or else we’d have to take out some furniture. Thank you!
