Note that in Consumer Reports's "Which Brands Make the Most Reliable Appliances?", Bosch refrigerator reliability is only Fair while Electrolux is Poor. The "counter-depth" measurement refers to the depth of the (24") cabinet, not the entire refrigerator so the doors will all stick out past the surrounding cabinet fronts.

That $4000 LG LRFVC2406S is 28-1/4" deep but the Frigidaire FPBC2278UF (not only your list) is only 27-1/8" deep and costs less at $2783.

Thanks for sharing the Consumer Reports article and the other Frigidaire option. LG is higher on the CR list so I may end up with that one. One of the appliance stores I'm looking at has an "open box" version at a good price.

We have an LG refrigerator and I really, really dislike it. It doesn't hold a constant temperature and things freeze in the refrigerated compartment all the time. I would never buy another LG!

We had an LG refrigerator as well, would NEVER buy again! Currently have Kitchen Aide and will be moving and gutting the kitchen etc. Looking at the GE Cafe line.

I need more info like what size are you looking for. I have Fridgedaire all fridge all freezer columns they are 13 yrs old not one issue they come with a very nice looking built in kit and are affordable. Electolux makes the same look a lot nicer interiors since mine were consisdered commercial but I have 2 clients with the Electrolux ones with no issues and I live in a really small town and before buying appliances I checked to make sure the appliance repair shop here could give me service BTW they even knew about my Bertazzoni range. You need to decide exactly what you need from any appliance you buy and I find the best site to compare them is AJ Madison. As for staying with the same brand of appliances that is IMO never a good idea.

Love my counter depth GE refrigerator. Very reasonable, had it for about 3 years and no problems so far.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting - I am buying all new appliances for my complete kitchen renovation and I found and I love the Bertazzoni range too and I like the price on the 36 inch. Curious if you have run across any electric stoves that look like a gas stoves. For folks that want the look of the gas stainless range but don't have gas in their home. .

I have Kitchenaid French door with bottom freezer (obviously!) about 4 years old. It's been very good & I love the look (white w/stainless handles) but it has deceptively small amount of storage.

We too have the Kitchenaid w/ water & ice inside. Aesthetically, we wanted a smooth front (without the dispenser). On the plus side - the temperatures are consistent, deli drawer is huge, on the negative side - the top glass shelf has a large gap at the back and if things are pushed to the very back they will fall through (soy sauce, bottled beer), always have to be careful.

@lhmarmot I had no idea you could get a fridge with water and ice inside. I have an older Kitchenaid with the same problem with things falling through. I like the smooth front and dislike the look of the mineral built up on our current fridge. Do you know the Model #. I am on the Kitchenaid site but have not found it yet. I would like to put matching cabinet panels on it. Did you do this?

Take a look at the KitchenAid Black Stainless. It's gorgeous. On display at some high end showrooms now here in LA/OC. I was there yesterday (I'm too trying to decide). They have a counter depth fridge or built-in. The ovens, dishwasher are beautiful.... (I've never had KitchenAid, but toying with that or Bosch). I prefer doing a package so they all match (my preference). Plus you can get rebates, etc. KitchenAid, Bosch or Thermador are my top pics.... But check out the DACOR and JenAire with black inside. So stunning! Search for local showrooms, find one you love and work with a local appliance place. Talk to them. They know what brands they have to make calls on for repairs....

Just FYI, for anyone considering a KitchenAid - we have a 42" built in (about 2 years old). It is the largest, most expensive refrigerator I have ever owned. It is also the absolute WORST in terms of quality of the interior drawers, slides, etc., and seems to have had zero thought as to how food containers can or will fit!

ka model krfc302ess00. It is about 3 years old now. No panels on the front, just stainless with handles.

Elyce, Dacor was bought out and is now Samsung’s high end brand. I am not sure how much of the original Dacor remains.

Since it is now owned by Samsung, I would avoid.

The Dacor DRF36C000SR and Samsung RF23M8070SR are virtually identical and the Samsung is $500 less.

We have had three Liebherrs at different properties and love them. They are truly counter depth (don't protrude beyond counters) with dual compressors.

I chose one with a non-plumbed ice maker, which is great. We travel for long periods, and I never have to worry about a leaky water line.

Last I checked CR, they said ice dispensers were the number one service item. We certainly have had unending problems with a Frigidaire at a rental unit we own.

Bought the Frigidaire 2 1/2 years ago and it's broken, will cost $700 to fix. It's getting harder to buy a good appliance. Will be buying the product protection next time, but will not buy a Frigidaire (POC product). All the other major appliance companys have a 3 to 5 year warranty on their cooling system. Figidaire has just a one year warranty for the whole refrigerator, after that you have to buy the extended warranty (pretty bad for a $3,000 refrigerator)! DO NOT BUY FRIGIDAIRE!!

I was watching Yale Appliance videos yesterday. Steve said the SKS counterdepth MAX is an excellent refrigerator.
They have good repair stats on the site too.

The following LG refrigerators have minor differences in features and appearance:

• LG LRFXC2606S ($1995)
• LG LRYXC2606S ($2395)
• SKS SKSFD3623SD ($4499)

Check the spec sheets of each to see the differences.

As much as I like the look and features on LG and Samsung appliances, they both seem to have a terrible track record for needed repairs (or full replacement), with very few certified service technicians and/or parts available.

Not perfect, but we've had good experiences with Whirlpool, KitchenAid, and GE Monogram - including stoves, cooktop, built-in ovens, dishwashers, and refrigerators.

All of the refrigerators have (or had) either an ice maker, or ice & water in the door - none of which ever leaked or malfunctioned.

BUT to be clear, I haven't needed to buy any appliances since Covid, and I wonder how much negative effect that had on any & all brands.
