I don't like it there

I like it under that chair BUT it doesn’t go with the other rug. They are too similar- looks like a matching error.

Ocotillo, My other larger rug is the final result of a design dilemma due to the size and shape of my family room - odd to say the least. The larger rug is centered around the expanse of the fireplace with odd configurations of space on either side. There was no larger size rug that could accommodate my needs so I settled for choosing the fireplace as the focal point with a complementary sized rug.

I kind of like it because it has some texture. However it appears you have an identical chair on the opposite side of the fireplace. If you like it to be balanced I think you'll have to pack up the circle. I share your angst with entry rugs. Good luck.

Move the chair up some out of the corner. Move the other chair the same. Get rid of the rug. The rug is nice but not there. Try it.

That could possibly work if it was in a bay window by itself. It looks silly here.

It may function well as a rug to help keep feet warm and cushioned but definitely not a good visual fit. Your room looks far better without it! Good job!
