I would remove the plants and mirror. Put a round table under the chandelier with some flowers and be done

Is it the living room or a foyer?

What does the other side of the room look like? What is beyond the railing? What do your other furnishings look like?

This is the other side of the room going down stairs. This is the entryway.

I like Sammie’s idea a lot. If that’s too difficult to pull off, I suggest you replace the plants with an armchair angled in that corner and place a small end table to the right of the chair. Definitely remove the mirror. You could replace the mirror with the artwork that’s currently hanging over the stairs if you don’t have anything else to hang by the chair.

Another idea is to stage it as a dining area with a small round table and four chairs, if there isn’t a dining room in the house.

I'd stage it as a home office. Great spot for that and everyone is looking for one (or two!) in a home today.

If this is a big house, it's a foyer. Foyers in big houses usually have a central round table with a decorative object (big bowl, vase of flowers, big live plant such as an orchid) etc.) and a lightweight occasional chair or two under a painting or mirror. In my area, this is the traditional location for the sale flyers in a holder and a bowl for real estate agents' cards.

Round table with chairs. Otherwise the chandelier looks wrong over a desk or over a coffee table. This could be dining or game table. If home already has a dining table I'd do a round pedestal table with a game of checkers or chess, or even a puzzle on it

Below are a few ideas on how you might be able to stage this foyer area.
