Can you attach photos? Otherwise we are just guessing :-)

But I will say that the development of fungal mold - actually mycellium - is not uncommon with any kind of potting soil and is generally nothing to be concerned about. It is evidence of fungal organisms that feed off of any dead organic matter, which all potting soils contain. At worst it may be an indication you are keeping the media too wet.

If this is on the plant itself, it could be more of an issue. Photos are most definitely required here. Again, on the soil, it's more likely a fungus that's not harmful, but again, photos would help. Snake plants are (usually) more tolerant of a dry environment as well, although there are one or two minor exceptions and placement will matter a bit here.

Yeah, usually not a major issue and if the plant isn't currently struggling (it sounds fine), put it on the ignore list. If you want to pick it out, you can, but it's the surface symptom of mycelium that are running through the entire structure of the soil in all likelihood.

I tend to ignore them and simply water a little less if it's getting extreme. Pothos aren't particularly demanding plants in terms of watering, so a bit dry won't bother her any for a while.

If it's just an occasional thing, it's absolutely nothing to worry about and there's no need to change your care regimen. Soils contain organic matter, so some fungal growth is normal occasionally.
