shower drain above tile

How big of a problem is this? In the photo, you can see that this drain is sitting well above the tile in my yet-to-be-used shower.

We haven't been able to shower yet, but I can see there is no way to avoid puddling in this area. The rest of the drain has the tile mostly flush with it. Should I mention this to the tile guy or let it go? No idea what he'd have to do to fix it.

Of course you need to mention it. It is completely incorrect, the shower would not have passed a flood text during inspection either. It will not drain even close to correctly. I do not think it will be "fixable". Do you have any in progress pictures? Methods and exact materials used? Something that obvious often shows that what you do not see is even worse.

Oh my gosh. I was afraid of that. I don't know what to do now. Talk to the GC about it, or talk to the tiler about it? How do you fix a problem like this?
