So hard to pick just one. If I am going on the unique side I would pick Blueberry Muffin. It grows quickly, I love the pink legs and the dusty blue color is lovely.

Sagae or Liberty I think are obvious choices. My dark horse would be Wave Runner. Bright chartreuse with ruffled, yellow edges that mix into a variety of colors. Takes sun very well. Never had a slug issue, but don't have issues in the bed they are in (I have two).

Not knowing what you already have, I would like to recommend BrimCup. It’s vigorous and the leaves are interesting enough to complement any neighbors

pm that is an almost impossible choice! Let's start with a classic blue because everyone needs at least one blue.

Blue Angel is very large, readily available and indestructible. The buds are beautiful and the flowers are among the most impressive of any.

If you want something mid sized Mystic Star is fantastic.

Mystic Star starts out pale blue maturing to a deeper blue then late season becomes shiny metallic. The size would fit perfectly with June (larger than) if they are going together.

Guacamole, June, Krossa Regal, and pretty sure I have Sagae. And I have a few NOID that I bought at local sales. That's it. I don't have a large collection.

I love all the Hosta I have. Guacamole has those gorgeous double flowers that are fragrant, but I think I need to move it because it isn't producing many flowers and maybe needs more sun. The flowers on that Blue Angel are pretty too. I could use another Blue.

The Blueberry Muffin is nice too. Sagae is very pretty. Mine is still smaller than mature I guess. I have a dry shade yard and sometimes the Hosta do better than other times.

Brim Cup is vigorous? I love vigorous...lol.

Halcyon is a sport of June? I'll look for that one. I thought maybe I should look for one that had June as a parent.

Wave Runner sounds nice too.

I wonder, if I really wanted a fragrant hosta....does anyone have one that they really like? I read a thread on Houzz, where people were suggesting H. plantaginea. I found this photo of a sport of that called 'Aprodite' Is that what H. plantaginea looks like too?

Here is a picture of my plantaginea, it seems to like some sun and grows quick. I have another one in shade and it grows too, though slower and not as many blooms. The blooms smell beautiful.

For a large hosta, Liberty, Guardian Angel.or Paul's Glory. Medium size would be June or Dick Ward Streaked would be Christmas Tree Gala or Kaleidochrome--both have kept their streaks for me.

Miles - I forgot about the Streaked Hostas. I haven't got one either.

Well....it might be I'm going to have to get more than one.

Windymess - Ken is right, I did have some reverted leaves on June that look like Halcyon. I think I am going to try separating them out to get the solid color. Thanks.

Perennial All - I found Blue Angel on the site I was trying to make an order from and the flowers didn't look anything like that.

pm if you check out the link I posted you will see that it is known for the flowers. If the site is reputable it should be true to name. You want to get what you intend. Mistakes happen but....

How about 'Earth Angel'.........the variegated edge sport of 'Blue Angel'. Vigorous, holds its colors nicely all season......sort of the opposite variegation pattern as 'June'....though larger and more open then 'June'. For fragrants how about 'Fragrant Bouquet', very light leaves with a nice light edge. Very beautiful and different from 'June'. BTW 'June' is also my favorite Hosta hands down and has been so ever since if first came out.

Thank you, I'll check out Earth Angel! And June is my yardstick to measure all other Hostas by, but yes, ready to have something different and Blue Angel sounds good. Will also check out 'Fragrant Bouquet'.

If you have solid leaves showing up in your June, that is Halcyon, the parent plant. You can separate out the solid leaves and have your own halcyon for free. That’s how I got mine. Anyway, I agree with many suggestEd already....... I have Blue Angel, awesome, indestructible as peren says, Blueberry Muffins, slug proof, I also love Paradise Joyce—-1 of my favs.

also, you can’t go wrong with Paradigm, sun or shade very slug resistant

Also, consider Blue Hawaii, another great blue with heavy flower bloom, slug proof.

in 2 gallon sizes. Then I got a couple of starter plugs for Fire Island that I had before and it disappeared when it was under the drip line of a shrub for too long. And I got a starter plug of 'Blue Angel'.

I would have liked to order more, but, I have ordered so many plants this year! lol It's going to be a busy spring. Thank you all for the input. Great ideas!!
