Unidentified Insect Cocoon or Egg Sack

Below are a couple of photos of something I found in a barberry bush. I have also seen these in some honeysuckle vines. I'm not sure if they are some sort of insect's cocoon or an egg sack or something else. Anyone have any ideas?

I’m not 100% sure, but it looks like a Praying Mantis egg sack.

I agree. If you keep it inside where it's warm and it is a fresh sac, they might hatch early. You might not want that... :)

I agree with @Jilly and @Fori. If its not a mantis egg sack, then its a mud dauber nest

It is a mantis egg sack. It is definitely not a mud dauber nest. I know what those look like and where mud daubers build them. Besides they are made of dried mud. These pouches are some sort of flexible papery stuff.
