my mat is outside my front door on covered porch so I only have runner in my foyer

I would do several rugs, all the same. One can start at the front door, so that solves a front door mat issue. Using several instead of one will work when the hallway turns...

I see no point in a runner except for looks. IMO add some art on those walls and then decide if you need a runner . Just make sure the mat at the door is big enough to allow more than one person at a time on it. Why does the front door open out?
