Oregon Falls Quartzite

Have been looking at installing Oregon Falls Quartzite and can't find any photos on the internet of this installed. Does anyone have it? If so, could you share a photo? Thanks!

Hi there. We did select and install the Oregon Falls quartzite in late 2022—and we LOVE it. It’s beautifully solid and has held up perfectly with a lot of daily use by a big family. Absolutely would choose it again.

Ours is more blue- and grey-toned than the slab pictured above. We don’t have any of the pretty green tones.

Those are lovely slabs. Could this be another name for Sea Pearl? That's what is reminds me of with the greenish tinge in the veining (on my monitor), but I'm certainly no quartzite expert.

The slabs you've selected are really beautiful. They look similar to Taj Mahal quartzite with a larger main vein pattern. Taj Mahal is a popular higher-end stone and look incredible installed. You should be able to find many pictures for examples.

Thanks for y’all’s help! Yes I also loved Taj Mahal and Sea Pearl but they didn’t have big enough slabs of either. Will post a picture of the mostly finished product!

Lawren, did you end up going with the Oregon Falls quartzite slabs? We’re considering the same for a kitchen remodel, and I’d love to know how yours have held up.

No rules about stone and calling in a certain name. There are no guaranteed names or anything like that. Anyone is free to call it whatever they want. ALWAYS get a sample piece and test it yourself. Trust BUT VERIFY.

My countertops are what they called (I do not remember what they called it exactly), granite or quartzite, never gave us a name as it was already selected. But like many "white" quartzites, it is definitely a marble as etches like 10 men. We love it and appreciate the patina, well I do my gf not so much as it is dull and she says looks "dirty" in some areas.

Thank you for sharing! and wow, that is gorgeous. The slabs I'm currently looking at also has more blue tones than green and it's quite light on the veining.

Hi millworkman,

I tried getting a sample piece to test and try - unfortunately the place I was looking at does not have any samples and aren't willing to take a sample off the bigger slabs. I can't test if it'd etch, stain, etc. I've been reading through horror stories of quartzite on this site and I'm hoping to avoid the ones that are more 'problematic'; as far as naming goes, I do hope it is oregon falls. It seems to be a more porous quartzite since it's not a Crystalline quartzite.

All the slab places at my area aren't offering any samples of their Quartzites, which is a bummer.

Maybe I should just bite the bullet and go for either a Taj Mahal or Perla venata - a little out of my budget, but I can still save up for it.
