Interior decorating in this floor plan

I am looking for some ideas on how to decorate the floor plan in the picture attached below. As you can see it's an open concept. The home is a ranch style home. I posted actually pictures and received a lot of pointers. But maybe the seeing the floor layout can help me even further. I don't know what my style is. I like the transitional when it's done well. But what really moves me is Mid-Century Modern (MCM) when also done really well. But sometimes the MCM look can get boring if it's over done and could look uncomfortable. I like it better if it looks MCM and also comfy. Hence why I at times like the transitional look. It's not a huge spacious home but the size I think is just right. As you can see, the living room dining room is open concept.

What area do you want to start with? LR, DR, or Family Room.

Is there any furniture you must keep?

Will there be a TV in any of the rooms and is it wired in already.

You've had good advice from your other post. You have nice pics in your idea book. I think a consultation with an interior designer would help put you in the right direction.

The place is currently bear. I think I like to start with the living room then dining room then family room. Most likely No TV. Maybe one in the Family Room. I am open to getting new furniture. But I do furniture I’d like to keep. I have the exact same sofa below. But I’m coming from a small apartment. Not sure where I can put this particular sofa. I also like to keep the Scandinavian buffet pictures below. I have the same one from West Elm. As well as the same dining table. I’d like to keep all three. There’s some art work I like to keep as well. Bu as I said, I am open to getting new pieces. There are other pieces of furniture that I like to keep. Two gray Bertoia chairs, and the two accent chairs ( see pics).

@shirlpp yes, I did get some great advice from her which I have in mind. I’ve consider getting an interior decorator.

Your single best bet, is to research local interior designers. Make a list of furniture you would like to KEEP. Do some research, make an idea book here, or file images to a jpeg of rooms you LOVE. and add notes as to what you love ABOUT those rooms.

You share with the designer your lifestyle, how much tv you do or don't watch, how you entertain, and how many. That's your best route.

Alll that will happen in THIS venue is three thousand ideas and your own head SPINNING.

Why did you start this new post instead of adding to the other. Now to really get somehwere we need to go back and forth and I for one am not in the mood. I think MCM can be as comfy as any other style and not boring at all. I love MCM but you need to get some real on hands help . You are already well into MCM so IMO carry on but with some real help.If it helps this is my take on a MCM living room

Thanks for all the replies. I’m sorry about not posting in her same thread. The app version is hard to navigate.
