O daylilies 2021
Let’s see your O daylilies today. Winter has finally made a solid appearance here, 10” of snow, a high of 10 and 25-30 mph wind to drift the snow........I love winter.....not.

Only two O photos this year.
Orchid Corsage will always have a place here, a wonderful late bloomer.
Olfactory Evidence had first blooms last season, it was the last daylily to bloom.

Olfactory Evidence - usually the last to start blooming here, but last summer it's FFO was Aug 1 and it was not the last - a couple of Hansons started after, the latest was Polynesian Voyager on Aug 11.
Olly Olly Oxen Free took a while to get established but last summer exploded (sleep, creep, leap maybe)
One For Steve - another that took a while to get established. Scapes have been short every year so far
Optical Art - I think this was a bonus, and it left my garden

Olallie Autumn Gold, one of the last to bloom. Not a favorite but nice to have late ones.

Odontos is one of our Canadian daylilies (from Daniel Matton). I wish the scapes were just a few inches taller.
Well, I see it and hope the rest of you do too.
Oklahoma Sand Burr has some nice teeth.
The eye color on Odell is more maroon (too much sun in this picture). This was new last spring and I can't wait to see it this season We got a lot of seeds from it too (as pollen parent). Its bloom in on the small side (4.5 inches).
Off to See the Wizard was a bonus plant. I love bonuses because I get daylilies I wouldn't have ordered. Many times I get a real gem.
Old Time Memories is a large orange. Guess who wanted this one. It is a nice daylily.

This is not really the correct color on On Your Knees You Will Find Him. It's really a warmer pink.
One Above You, as the name suggests, is one of the super tall ones. I wish there were some super talls in colors other than yellow. Guess I'll have to work on that.
I love the shape and eye and throat on One Hot Mama.
I picked up One More Bud at a club auction for $5. What a buy that was! It just keeps on blooming.
I love the colors on Orange Angel. As you might have guessed, this was Bob's pick.

John Trimmer produced some beautiful oranges. Not all of them, however, are happy in our garden. Orange Blossom Trail has done reasonably well. It doesn't grow very tall (Trimmer's were huge in his garden in 2015), but it blooms every year.
Bob and I visit lots of garden centers and I often find cheap daylilies and feel sorry for them and pick them up. One time I Walmart I saw one of those bagged daylilies that was growing a perfect little fan already so I had to rescue it. They are probably all tissue cultured, but I don't really care. I just buy them for landscape purposes. This one is Orange Flurry. It's a dip mini.
