99% percent of the time, we set our jets around the perimeter. The exceptions would be if the bench did not run completely around or the client specifically did not want jets in a wall but wanted a respite just to soak in heated water.

PB full of it. I see so much disinformation from people's posts on this forum about what their PB's or whoever is running the project has said. This PB is no exception.

On a square spa like this, we will put a minimum of (2) jets on each wall having (8) in total.

If the spa is 8x8 or bigger, we will put at least (3) on each wall totaling at (12)

We use a 2 pump system, whereas a separate pump is for the jets only, and a separate pump for filtration. We never use the filter pump to do double duty of jet action and filtration.

We use Waterway Gunite Jets solely. Each jet needs 10 GPM to perform properly.

So, (6) jets would need a pump that produces a minimum of 60 GPM.

The pipe size must be correct for suction and return, to achieve that 60 GPM.

Calculations must be made to determine which pump and what pipe size is needed. The distance from the equipment pad to the spa must also be factored.

All of the pump companies have the charts to figure this out or tech support can help.

Present job we are on has a 10' round spa with a total of (16) jets. It needs a pump to produce 160 GPM. Our pipe size, based on the flow requirement and the distance from the equipment, is 4" PVC. We need to move a lot water to achieve that flow rate.

Most importantly, the jet manifold at the spa, is connected in a loop fashion to allow for (2) equidistant points of entry, to provide an even distribution of water to each jet.

If an air blower is to be used, it too must enter at (2) separate points for even bubbles.

As I've said in other similar posts on this forum, the PB has to do some math and calculate the pump and pipe sizing.
