Try rooting it from cuttings.

i would love to. But it seems rooting camellia is not that easy.

Looks very happy there. Must be a camellia japonica if it is blooming now. I used to see many in my Alma mater in Atlanta. Reminds me of Camellia Japonica Debutante. Here is more info about propagating camellias via cuttings from the American Camellia Society:

Debutante and other camellia japonicas start to bloom there and here somewhere from December-April, depending on the variety, weather and location (later in the north). Once the cutting is established and planted outside in dappled sun or morning sun/afternoon & evening shade, maintain the plant mulched all year around with 2-4" of mulch or pine needles. Maintain the soil as evenly moist as you can. See the society's website for more information on fertilizing, etc.

LOL! And I'd say it is a wiliamsii hybrid if it is blooming now.....too early in my book for the japonicas to be in bloom. And the cultivar I'd guess it to be is 'Debbie'.

'Debutante' certainly looks generally like it, with in addition a percentage of shots here showing the same comparatively narrow, sharply toothed leaves with long tips:

I went to Pikes this afternoon and was overwhelmed by the Camellia varieties there. 'Debutante' was there and I think the flowers look very similar to my neighbor's flower. So I guess my search is over. 'Debutante' will be the one I plan to buy. Thanks a lot for all the help here.
