If the range is going to stay in the same location:

1.) Use an island-mount range hood with a slim profile (we'll provide some examples with photos after this post). A range hood does NOT have to be a giant, bulky box - it can be slim & beautiful.

2.) Use a range hood designed to flush-mount into the ceiling, such as the "Skylight" model, or a "range hood insert" (modular hood) built into a small drop-down soffit over the range (small enough not to block the view).
