Your AV may have undergone an extreme environment change. What are you using for grow lights? Make sure not to water with cold water and don't overwater.

Oddly enough, with the patterns I see developing, I also wouldn't discount the idea that the lighting change is bringing out its variegation.

I’m using a Feit 27 watt led grow light. I moved the plant to a lower shelf so it’s not on the one directly below the light. I’m sure conditions are different in my home compared to the greenhouse I bought it from. I bottom watered it with room temperature water and used an African violet fertilizer when I did. I would like to get a self watering pot for it, but haven’t yet.

Another point ...

I would have waited a month or two before fertilizing. That could have definitely caused the leaf discoloration.

I would also recommend keeping the plant in a regular pot for a while ... and learn how it should be watered (i.e. only when the top of the soil is dry). Self-watering pots can be a little tricky.
