What size round dining table?

When I do a search, I am seeing conflicting information. I have a 11 X 11 dining room. I want to purchase a round table and maximize number of chairs. I want to ensure people have enough room to walk behind chairs if someone is seated. There won't be other furniture pieces in the space. Advice?

I'm assuming no rug you have to use and do you have toe moulding?

It also greatly depends on the slant of the chairs.

I have not made a decision on a rug yet. Baseboards, yes.

I did some measuring and with a comfortable padded chairs and someone seated, that is 2 feet. You can get away with 2 feet behind the person, I know 3 is recommended, but 2 is doable, so that leaves 3 feet for the table which is small.

I would carefully measure the chairs you want and see if you could get away with a 48" table. A lot depends on doorways, openings etc. And personally, I would rather have the biggest table I could and squeeze by.
