My daughter is considering buying a vintage home that has been completely updated. The problem is there is an overwhelming smell of mildew or mold especially when the cooling system first comes on and and an extremely strong odor in the attic.. Also I noticed some mildew or mold around several outlet covers inside the house. There is no evidence of leaks in the ceiling. I realize she needs to have it inspected. She is so in love with the house I think no matter what she will buy it. I am concerned that this could be expensive to clean up or harmful to her health. Anyone delt with mold and mildew in an older Florida home.
