You might want to try something like this if you want to "learn" a pattern. I admire ladies who can free motion feathers, but only manage to stipple myself.

If it’s for a girl you could do a line of flowers. My go-to border design is leaves. Mine are a simple wavy line with pointed leaves alternating out the sides.

Other ideas - plain loops, loops with other random elements like stars.

Thank you, Donna. I really like the flowers Polardream did on her hearts quilt. I’ve been practicing and practicing. LOL. The flowers would go with the little flower squares I have in the quilt.

Leaves or flowers would complement the blocks, but my go to for baby quilts is a wavy line with hearts in between. I tried to find a picture, but my photos are not very organized.

Carabubble, that is really cute. Flowers are really easy to FMQ - so glad you like mine! I usually do the center circle, then the petals around and take the swirling line after the 5th petal with a loop or two then the next flower. Good luck!
