Help - Master Bath - what do i do??

Our master bathroom has developed a leak in both outer corners of the shower - come to find out it was not installed correctly. We have had several contractors who have suggested replacing the bottom row of tiles in the shower, replacing tile in shower floor and a little beyond to add waterproof dietra to shower corners. But we have no extra tile, we know where they bought it, but after 5 years cannot guarantee the color is the same. In addition they have determined that the slope for the linear drain is not sufficient

We are considering replacing the whole floor as any coordinated tile would have to extend beyond the shower. Several contractors have said that we need a threshold to make this work - they want to move the drain to the center and then add a 2-x6 threshold at the entrance to the shower Not sure that would look good with our double glass doors

Shower size for reference is 4.6 x 4.6 so not excessively large Help on what to do?

I can only imagine how frustrated you must be! I’m trying to visualize what your shower will look like with an added threshold. Hmmmm. . . Kinda ruins the look. :(

It’s 1:30 a.m. - and I‘m tired - but I‘m assuming that the color of the flooring in the shower and right in front of it is due to the lighting?

Since you say it is a leak, best to figure out and replace, as you might encounter mold issues down the line if there isn't already some there.

I would replace the whole thing. Find tile that coordinates with what you have, rather than matching. A picture of the shower interior would help.

IMO this requires a rip out of the shower because if it is leaking there is mold growing in the wall and no removing the bottom rows of tile will not fix it and do not hire the guy who thought that was how to fix it. I need to see the actual shower to even begin to help.

This is the shower. (Excuse mess trying to figure this out). The last is the tile we are thinking of for the floor. It’s porcelain, marble with out water we run the risk of staining

I like the new tile you have posted - do you mind sharing where you found it? I REALLY want a marble shower. REALLY! However - based upon advice from pros - it doesn’t appear to be the “best” choice unfortunately.

@Patricia Colwell Consulting - would you mind suggesting some porcelain tiles that you think are a good choice for someone in this situation? There are SO MANY - and as a “newbie” - it is overwhelming. I understand the need to view samples prior to purchasing anything - it would just would be extremely helpful to be pointed in the right direction. I‘m not trying to hijack OP’s thread - I am making this request here because I assume that any suggestions will be helpful to OP also. Thanks!
