Home Decorating Design Dilemma Bathrooms

Tall mirrors vs floating vanity?

Hi, I am redoing a very small master bath. I was thinking of getting a 32-36" floating vanity to make the room look bigger. But I do have tall ceilings, and was hoping to get a tall 30" medicine cabinet over the sink. Then I read that the mirror shouldn't be taller than the vanity. Floating vanities are about 24" high. So should I go with a floating vanity and shorter mirrors--- or a standing vanity with taller mirrors? Thanks!

Okay I have never heard that idea about mirrors and IMO it depends on your style so these are 2 that break the “rule “ and look pretty cool to me

I've never heard that rule either. I'm sure a giant / tall mirror with floating vanity would look fine.

I like how this one starts nearly a foot above the counter (which looks great and is also very practical -- it will cut down on how much water splashes the mirror).

I don't like the mirror being under this one, but otherwise looks fine:

I think this particular vanity is ugly, but the proportions look fine to me:
