Kraus Workstation vs. Galley?

Hi All,

Does anyone have any experience comparing the Galley workstation to the Kraus Kore workstation?

We are building a new house and will need 3 sinks. The main kitchen we will do ~45", the bar will be ~30", and the guest kitchen will be ~20". We originally fell in love with the Galley, but definitely don't have it in the budget to do all thee sinks. I was then thinking maybe we do the 45" one the island as the Galley and the other two Kraus, but even then, I have concerns about the budget.

It is about $3k more for the Galley sink. They look nearly identical to me, but my wife is trying to convince me to spend the money on the Galley because she feels like it is the original.

Thoughts?

Postpone your window treatments and get good sinks.

@joseph corlett, llc what do you consider a good sink? What’s your opinion of these work stations?

Go to the Rachiele website and read all the excellent documentation on what goes into the design of a good sink. Rachiele sinks are the gold standard. But they also do cost a pretty penny. So, that might not work for your budget.

But Dino Rachiele is very generous with sharing his knowledge and that will make you more informed when looking for a sink that fits both your budget and your needs.

And I do agree, for your most frequently used sink, make sure it's a workstation sink with inset accessories. Can't say enough good things about our Rachiele sink. Worth every penny

M I’ve looked up info on the Rachiele sinks on their site and they are amazing. I’m fortunate to be an hour away from them so I’ll definitely rely schedule an appt. Thx for the reminder!!

There are a ton of good sinks available. Nothing 20 gauge please. Dino's sinks are the gold standard, but are priced accordingly.

I am going with the Kraus. From everything that I can tell the quality is good, but it is thousands of dollars less than the Galley. I couldn’t justify it considering they use the same gauge steel.

They’re installed and look great but we haven’t moved in yet. Hopefully in a two months.

Any update on your Kraus sink? we are going through the same decision. Kraus vs Galley vs Julien vs Kohler . 45 inch

We still absolute love our Rachiele sink. That was the perfect choice. The fact that it could be custom built to perfectly fit our needs is well worth it, despite the higher initial cost. I get so much enjoyment out of it; it's something I never expected to say about a kitchen sink.

Agree with M. Our Rachiele sink has been great. One of the many advantages is that the countertops only require dusting.

@jss381 How is the Kraus? I love the dimensions of their 36 workstation, but I'm afraid of some reviews online! Don't really have time to wait for the Rachiele to be built.... Thank you!

We love it! We use the cutting board almost daily, and have a second one in our guest kitchen (doesn't get used often).

@jss381 Thank you! Did you purchase the sink in the last 2 years or so? My mom has a Kraus from about 10 years ago, and it's great - but then around 2021, some reviews online say there are issues with discoloration. I'm worried there have been quality issues post-pandemic, so curious if you purchased yours within the last couple years? Thank you!

Yes, we bought it less than two years ago. No issues with discoloration thus far!
