do you know its bacterial.. or are you perhaps just leading us down the wrong path???

what does the newest growth look like .. i would just cut off the leaf near soil level ... what is your media ..

how has it responded in the 9 months you have had it ...

Hi Ken - thanks for the response. I'm not 100% sure if it's bacterial. I was scouring the web and it was suggested that it could be. Definitely not trying to lead anybody down a wrong path! I'm a beginner. Any help will be appreciated.

I believe the oldest leaves are at the bottom. A neighbor was about to throw this out. I decided to keep it since it only had 1 or 2 brown spots. But since then brown spots just multiplied. I replanted and added new potting soil.

It is kept indoors in our covered patio. I have a water meter and water when it is close to dry at the base - I try to avoid touching the leaves. The plant is currently in a black planter.

It’s sunburn.. mine got burned like that when I put them outside, even though I was careful to adjust slowly. It will not go away. But usually it does not progress, even when the burn is strong. Perhaps yr neighbor put it out before you got it?
