6 zone irrigation on a pump

I have a 50 year old home and the indexing valve irrigation system has not kept up with the way the yard has changed, so I have been running new zones using the same valve and dial-type electric timer, but want more control over timing since I am going from 4 lawn zones and a garden to 3 lawn, 2 shrub/tree and 1 garden. I like the simplicity of the current system: timer turns on the pump and off and the indexing valve advances the zones one by one, but I want more than 15-min chunks of time. What is out there for my needs?
