What to do with Mathilde

My hoya Mathilde was not doing anything much for nearly a year. In fact, it seemed like it was drying up too much. On a whim a few weeks ago, I decided to chop it up and try a few different things with the pieces.

- One piece had only one leaf on it. I repotted in chunky soil and it is in a cloche now. It seems like it's growing aerial roots from the stem. At least it's not dead.

- Two pieces I put in leca under a grow light. They are doing nothing much either. But also not dead.

- Last little two-leaf piece I put in damp perlite in my cookie jar that retains a lot of humidity. Well lo and behold, it is growing two new leaves! But it has no roots. What to do with this weirdo? Just leave it until it grows roots? Do you think it will grow roots?



Don't mind the other green leaves in the background. I have several different hoya cuttings in this wonder-jar!
