Is this what happens in space?

I have a leaf purchased from Selective Gardener of Optimara Everprecious that I got quite a while ago. It was slow to produce and only popped up one baby. When the baby was big enough, I separated and planted it in its own k-cup. Mama still looked good, so I reset the leaf to see what it would do. It sat and sat and sat until it began to look faded and I was beginning to think it was a goner. Suddenly I noticed another single baby had popped up from the soil. But I just now saw something else. While I had been glancing at the baby growing up from the soil, I had neglected to notice the new bright growth on the base of the leaf itself. It's not like babies on the edge of the leaf, but like the leaf is regenerating itself. It is very weird, I think. Is that what happens when you send plant tissue into space? It's kind of interesting and I am watching now to see what happens. See what you think?
