Whew! Posting pictures takes awhile but I am deeply drawn to tube lights these days....Any thoughts? These are Pottery Barn

I know it's a bit modern for my simple bathroom but a complete remodel is not in the picture at the moment.

I actually like the sconces you have in your bathroom now - they look good with your decor. Do you need more light or just looking to refresh?

Thank you Ruby, they are not for light at all, just want something more modern and have been trying to update and lose all Queen Anne and Tuscan elements in the house.

I do use them for ambiance at night sometimes, that's it.

To be honest, I'm not crazy about that sconce in your bathroom.

I mixed modern lighting and antiques in our current home. You really need 2 or 3 modern items in the room in order to make the mix work. Are you will to change art, an accessory or two? Paint your cabinet?

I have loved tube lighting ever since I saw this a few years ago.

Hmmm, I do know they're not everyones taste, I certainly can change out the art or add a modern piece. I'm not ready to paint yet, I'll do that when I replace the floor and counter/ sink etc.

And I am considering ALL advice, I'm not looking for just validation. and trying to update without a huge remodel.

I am able to read the hard No going on too LOL

LOL Bumble! I do like them in the picture above. I think maybe because it is a smaller wall area and the oval shaped mirror. I just do not see them in your space. BUT, if you love them in the space - by all means use them! I firmly believe in using what you love.

I think your inspiration picture works better with the modern lighting because of all the white in the wallpaper and the lights are more "contained" between the mirror and molding, so the scale works better. Look at how large they are compared to the mirror size. I think in your bathroom these particular ones look out of place. I think you can do better.

These aren't quite as modern, but would they have any appeal? I think the scale with the space and your mirror is better.

Oly, thank you! There are a number of ones out there that make think I can do better, but more or less look the same as the PB one, just better and 3x the price. Lol

I like the second one you posted very much!

Love the ones Oly posted. And I think your current ones are fine as is. I don’t think the tubes work in your space for the same reasons as Oly listed.

How about some nice shades on your lights?

I’m going to pile on. I don’t care for the tube lights in your bathroom. I wish I could tell you why. I really like the ones Oly found (Amazon? Who knew!) and I think 1929Spanish is on to something with the suggestion for shades. Maybe something like this tapered drum from Ballard, but white or off-white?

A tall straight drum shade might be even better, cleaner looking.

Sorry, not a fan of the one you posted. If you want tube lighting, this may be a good midpoint to go to...

I like the simplicity of these, and vintage modern, rather than contemporary, look. Very elegant, like your beautiful bathroom:

I rarely do mock ups but in this case it's helpful.

I had saved those Pottery Barn ones and was mocking them up when I saw your post! They are pretty.

Gosh, I really like what you have as well. If it ain't broke... you know? :) Sorry, I'm no help but if you do want a change, Jinx and Annie's options make the most sense, imho. Nicely done bathroom. Very pretty!

Thank you and I have been inspired to do a new painting for the bathroom and I know exactly where it'll go and I will remove the art to the left of the mirror.
