Basement flooring color match

Hi, we are finishing our semi finished basement, and am thinking of the floor colors hold match the rest of the house? the stairs are a darker shade of oak. upstairs is a mix of tile and dark hardwood. We are thinking of luxury vinyl for the basement floor. Does that need to be a darker shade too to create uniformity?

No...not necessarily. If the door is open all the time AND you will be hosting PLENTY of social events, then go dark. If you do not, then go ahead and get what you want.

Are you keeping the tile for the next 15 years? If so, go ahead and get a pretty match for the tile.

If you want to change the tile out soon, then purchase the two products together.
