I think first you need lighting and lots of it for an office so before going again get the lighting issue dealt with The lighting should all be LED 4000K it is the best mimic of bright day light. In a windowless space you need lots of both ambiant and task lighting. As for a color . When you strat cutting colors thye often do not look the same as the original IMO stick with thegray increase the lighting and carry on before you make yourself nuts.

Thank you for the reply Patricia. I don’t know if you’ll see this comment or not, but here’s my reply. I guess I wasn’t clear on the lighting. We have these recessed lights from Amazon and they are the 3000k and I LOVE them. The space is lit very well and I’ve been using it for a year without it being finished lol. I have even wanted to change all my other lights in my house to these.

The paint sample in the 8 oz can was perfect. The five gallon bucket somehow wasn’t the exact same paint. When painted side by side on the wall, the five gallon’s was lighter and pinker. Another Home Depot employee told me they have problems when reducing paint color by more than 50%, and we should’ve never tried.

PS I do love the light airiness of the gray paint but it is too cool of a color to go with the rest of the basement space being finished. My decorator and I have intentionally picked out fixtures, cabinets, and furniture that go the way I want them to with the warmer tones in the luxury vinyl planks and carpet I ordered. I think I’ll have to go nuts lol but later I won’t regret getting it just the way I wanted. Sometimes these steps just take longer than anticipated.

You dont have to change light fixtures in the rest of your house, all you have to do is change out the bulbs. Reducing colors always changes the way they look. If you do decide on another color, pick the color you want, and not something that you need to reduce the color on.

Yep that’s what I decided to do. I was hoping someone had a color they loved in a windowless room that they could share with me. Thanks everyone for their replies.
