Great job, how old were the seedlings.

7 florets is a major success.

    Congratulations!

Brian, I will have to check, but since it has bloomed twice before, it must be at least 5 years old. Each year it has added flowers. I have noticed that it does not produce many offsets, maybe 1 a year....maybe saving energy for flower production. Interestingly, Chico only has 5 flowers this year.

Oh, and please add your hybrids to this post :)

My hybrids are just turning 3 y/o this season and no sign of buds yet so hopeful I'll get some blooms next year. Just culled them down from 36 to 18 this season, keeping only the largest bulbs in circumference.

This was an interesting breeding, a large white noid x Pretty Woman. The white with light striations in the back and the white on the right are the only ones scented.

    CONGRATULATIONS!

The specimen with the pink bloom, that is my favorite.

CARAMBA! That is a gooood one!!! I like the reticulation. Sooo good!

Me too!! That's my favorite of that group! Tosca x Mocca is not what I would have expected but it's lovely too.

I seem to remember Ekime's Razor was one that you posted a few years ago; (?) was this one from Telos or so my feeble brain seems to recollect...☺☺Donna

Donna, you are correct, so your minds still intact lol!!! This was a seedling from Telos. Strangely, this one hasn't bloomed since that first blooming instead opting to produce offsets for the last 2 years and then they all decided to bloom this year...go figure. I really do like this one though. It's different and the flower seems to improve over days.

Ok, this is my favorite from the Lrg. White noid x Pretty Woman and the one I am keeping. Don't know why I just like it "it brings me joy" lol. However, although I know it came from the seeds of the Lrg. White, I am wondering if it could have beens polinated by something else like Spotlight. Don't know how as I hand pollinate but it looks so different. What do you think?

Here's another seedling bulb from the Tosca RC x Mocca cross. Do you all remember when Royal Colors was selling the Tosca with that amazing shape (I think Donna was the first to bloom it), anyway, it is that bulb I used for this cross.

Here is Tosca from Royal Colors.

Ooh.. I really like this one!! Is this the same one that you posted above? It's got everything that I love!! Congratulations on this beautyl!! Lovely Tosca too!! Sometimes I forget to click on the photo to enlarge it so that's probably why it really clicks for me this time. ;-)

I remember those funky Toscas. I have/had (don't know which one that is still alive that I have) one but it seems to be growing backwards. Mocca's pollen seem compatable with just about anyone and produces lovely seedpods as well as lovely seedlings; at least I think so!

I don't believe I had've much luck if any, breeding with Fledermaus.....

Jody, I just love your Tosca x Mocca, both seedlings! I will remember to try this cross when my Tosca decides to bloom again but since I have the "normal" Tosca the seedlings may look different. I got seeds from my Tosca with a pink NoID but I lost all the seedlings this winter due to frost :-( Last year I brought some of my bulbs to the garden I have outside the city because the space at home is very limited and I cannot provide enough light for all those bulbs. I brought them inside the house for the winter but temperatures got so low that all the bulbs died. Lesson learned.

Good to see Ekims Razor again. You were so nice to send me pollen a few years ago and I'm growing some seedlings Rosario x Ekims Razor. They will need at least another year to bloom but I'm already looking forward to seeing the results!

Some of my hybrids that are currently blooming:

    H554 x Santiago

H554xEmerald Unfortunately not very long lasting flowers

This was a surprise! The seedling is marked as Rebecca x Papilio. Rebecca is a pink/rosé fragrant trumpet. The flowers are very elegant and highly fragrant but I cannot see much Papilio in it.

Emerald x Papilio. This seedling has three flowers

Here's another picture of Rebecca x Papilio. I'm very pleased with those extremely long trumpets although it has only two flowers. Reminds me of Amputo but with red markings inside. The fragrance is fruity like Rebeccas but even stronger.

Anja , they are all gorgeous!!!! Love the cybister crosses. And, I love the scented flowers!! I am trying to pick the hybrid bulbs I want to keep and it is really hard. There is one however that just opened and the colors reminded me of a tropical hibiscus, so this is a definite keeper. The color is pretty accurate, wondering what to call this one. Jody

    Jody,

I'm sorry I'm late to the game. Your Miss M is absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! The color, shape, size and number of blooms are just incredible. CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!

P.S. Your Exotica x Sweet Nymph is also outstanding. Many years and a lot of hair ago we used to go to a bar at the Marriott across the street where I worked and the bartender concocted this drink called Electric Watermelon. That's the first thing I thought when I saw this beautiful bloom!!! So I vote for Jody's Electric Watermelon :-)))))))

Me too, that's the perfect name for this beauty, Fred! Congratulations again,Jody, you have been very successful in breeding!

This mixture of orange and pink seems to be typical for children of Exotica. Two of the three Gervaise x Exotica hybrids I have showed the same colors, one unfortunately only in its maiden bloom, the year after it was mainly orange. They're going to bloom soon, I hope for more pink again...

I'm sad again that they don't sell Exotica anymore.

Ok Electric Watermelon it is!! Thanks Fred, I was really surprised at the number of flowers, but another bulb from this cross opened with 6 flowers also so it seems to be consistent in this cross.

Anja , thanks for the info on Exotica, I will look for her and if she has pollen I will send it to you. I hope the hybrids keep this color because it is so vibrant!! But you are right, the second flowering will tell. I am not planning any hybrids this year (but that might change lol) because, I want to organize better as growing out a lot of hybrids takes room. Also, I have envelopes of crosses from last year that I wanted to plant and share and I didn't do either, so they are probably trash :( However, some of these crosses have made me appreciate just how rewarding and fun it is to try hybridizing and I have all my friends on this forum to thank, so THANK ALL OF YOU!! :))

Oh and here is another cross just starting to open

Anja ,Congratulations on bringing your seedlings to bloom you seem to do it with relative ease unlike myself!! They're lovely!

Jody," Electric Watermelon" is just the perfect name for your absolutely gorgeoulsy colored hybrid; great choice Fred!!☺ Jody you too have come up with some real beauties!! Can't wait to see this last one when fully opened!

I'm still in love with your Toscas by Mocca!!☺☺

    Donna☺☺

Jody, this special Tosca seems to be a good crossing partner! Please give us another picture of this promising cross when it's fully open!

Jody, if you keep your seeds cool and dry they should be still viable after a year! But I understand you, I always say that I won't do any crossings this year but then I change my mind.

Donna, these are seedlings from that time when I did not have so many bulbs. Now I also have lots of pots with seedlings that grow very slowly because they don't have enough room and light. And I lost quite a lot this winter...

But I'm always happy when a new bulb opens its flowers! It's so much fun :-)

Here is the last seedling that opened from the Emerald x Papilio cross. The most elegant so far. I like it. Three flowers on this seedling.
