Woah, I had no idea they grew that tall! Thank you very much for your reply and the link you included. I don't know why it didn't even occur to me that they could be pruned. He's been doing so well for so long that I haven't need to look into maintenance until now. Thank you again!

@User May I ask you another question? My plant doesn't have any branches, it just has two, very thin, twisted 'trunks' with stemmed leaves off of both. Lower leaves have fallen off. If I prune the top of one of the trunks, there will be no leaves left on that trunk. Will new leaves/branches still grow from it?

Can you post photos? The tree doesn't sound all that healthy at this moment and I'm hesitant to tell you to knock off a branch when it might be the last thing keeping the branch alive. And I might not be the best one to answer that question.

It seems a little...skimpy. You could nick the tip of the branch and see if it divides, but I wouldn't go chopping off leaves at this point. It just doesn't have that many to give up.

They do like bright, indirect light without drafts, and can handle shady outdoor conditions in summer (for northerners) or outdoors in shade (for zone 10-ish folks). Higher humidity is preferred, if possible.

They grow the most in spring and summer, but they're light feeders. Half doses of fertilizer are fine in spring and summer. I tend to recommend Miracle Gro or Dynagro, with a preference towards Miracle Gro.

Yes, this is the first time I've looked closely into pruning money tree and I see that it is on the skimpy side. Thank you for being so helpful!

Your plant is stretching because of lack of light. It needs very bright conditions. Direct Sunlight should not be a problem unless it is also too hot (> 90F). Give it more light if you can bring it back to health. Consider setting it outside in late Spring when temperature outside remains above 50F. Your plant will be happier and healthier. By late June it would have regained some strength and will be better time to prune to shape.
